CALGARY – RCMP investigating a fatal ATV crash near Sylvan Lake over the weekend say they believe alcohol may have been a factor in the collision.

RCMP rushed to a rural area north of the Town of Bentley around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

When they arrived, officers found an ATV on its side in a ditch by Range Road 12, and the driver about 100 metres away.

Although RCMP performed CPR on the victim until EMS arrived, he was eventually pronounced dead.

Officials have identified the victim as 55-year-old Al Tudhope of Lacombe County.

They say it appears he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
