SCOTT, Sask. – A horse owner in the Scott, Sask. area has been charged with animal cruelty under the province’s Animal Protection Act.

Laurie Blair is also charged with wilful neglect and causing unnecessary pain to an animal under the Criminal Code.

In February, the Saskatchewan SPCA seized four horses from her farm south of Scott, approximately 170 kilometres west of Saskatoon, and took them to rescue stables.

Testing was carried out on the dead horses.

Blair will make her first court appearance in July.
