ABOVE: Toronto Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Conrad Grizzle, 20, wanted in the murder of Douglas Parker
TORONTO –Douglas Parker, 20, was the intended target of a public murder last month in front of dozens of children and residents of Walpole Avenue.
Parker was shot shortly after stepping out of a cab on Walpole Avenue near Danforth Avenue and Greenwood Avenue minutes before 9 p.m. on May 24.
“He was killed almost immediately after his arrival. He suffered several gunshot wounds to the chest,” Toronto Police Detective Joyce Schertzer said.

Some of Parker’s friends were also shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries but police say Parker was the intended target.
Police recovered a firearm from the scene but would not say to whom it belonged.
The shooting stemmed from a previous dispute between Parker and the main suspect, police said.
“Children were out enjoying themselves in the community playground when the gunshots erupted,” Schertzer said.
Police are looking for 20-year-old Conrad Grizzle and have issued a warrant for his arrest. Grizzle is wanted for second degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
“My advice to you is to surrender yourself today. Every police officer on duty in Toronto today has your photograph,” Schertzer said.
The shooting is not considered to be gang-related.
Parker was Toronto’s 20th homicide victim of 2014.
