TORONTO — British music icon Boy George celebrated his 53rd birthday Saturday night in Toronto with famous friends like Josh Groban, David Byrne and Rufus Wainwright.
The Culture Club singer was surprised with a birthday cake on stage at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts after performing a duet with Wainwright.
The audience joined in singing “Happy Birthday” to Boy George.
He was in the city for the Luminato Festival presentation of If I Loved You: Gentlemen Prefer Broadway, a show of love songs performed by men.
Vampire Weekend singer Ezra Koenig, Steven Page, Brent Carver and Brennan Hall were also part of the show.
