VANCOUVER – A Vancouver Island man who killed two women was sentenced today for his crimes.
Twenty-six-year-old William Elliott previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the deaths of 42-year-0ld Karrie-Ann Stone and 18-year-old Tyeshia Jones. Crown was asking for 25 years before any chance of parole and Defence was asking for 12 to 15 years. In the end, the judge gave Elliott two consecutive life sentences, meaning 20 years in prison before any chance of parole.

Stone’s burned body was found in July 2010 in a wooded area near Duncan. Jones’ remains were found in January 2011 near Duncan’s Shaker Church Cemetery.
Police say Elliott confessed in what’s known as a “Mr. Big” sting operation. Sentencing was previously delayed until a Gladue report could be completed, which guides judges in the sentencing of Aboriginal offenders.
