SASKATOON – Saskatoon RCMP and Canadian National Railway (CN) police are investigating a crash involving a train on Saturday.
Emergency services were initially called to a collision at 11:45 a.m. near Vonda, Sask.
RCMP say a southbound truck entered a railway crossing in front of the westbound train and was struck.
The 19-year-old truck driver was airlifted to hospital by STARS air ambulance. His injuries are serious but he is listed in stable condition.
A female passenger was also injured and taken to hospital. Police have not released further information about the extent of her injuries.
Vonda is approximately 45 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
