RCMP identify victim of deadly hit and run near Penhold

CALGARY- The young man killed while longboarding on an Alberta highway has been identified, as RCMP continue to search for whoever is responsible.

18-year-old Trystan Sorensen of Penhold, Alberta was killed Tuesday night, after being hit by a vehicle on Hwy 592 west of Penhold.

RCMP say Sorensen was longboarding with a friend around 10:30 p.m. when he was hit by what they believe is a blue Chrysler or Dodge SUV, driven by a white female. There may be damage to the vehicle on the front passenger side.

It’s not believed that the collision was intentional, and investigators are asking the driver to come forward.

Anyone who has information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
