REGINA – Members of the Regina Police SWAT team were called out around 1:00 a.m. Sunday to a home on the city’s north side.

Investigators were following up on a lead that a man wanted on a warrant could be in a house on the 500 block of Montreal street.

The homeowner was away and told police nobody was suppose to be inside however officers could see a person in the window.

Police say the accused has a history of violence toward police and could have access to weapons, so that’s why the SWAT team was called.

After hours of negotiations, a woman came out and was arrested on unrelated charges of breaches of undertaking as well as being unlawfully in a dwelling house.

Police say the home was searched but no one else was inside.
