CALGARY – The Calgary Fire Department is investigating the cause of a large fire at a southwest commercial strip mall.
Crews arrived at the 3700 block of 51 Street S.W. around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Flames were eating away at the strip mall, as thick brown smoke poured from the two-storey building.
Additional firefighters were called in to help battle the blaze, which was spreading to an awning attached to the front of the building.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire, and keep it contained to the exterior of the building.
