LISTEN: Audio obtained by Toronto Sun allegedly captures Rob Ford in racist rant. Warning: Graphic and offensive language
TORONTO – Mayor Rob Ford is allegedly heard ranting about gay rights, Tim Hudak, Olivia Chow and the race for mayor in a profane and racially-charged audio recording obtained by the Toronto Sun.
“I’m f***ing sick of politics dude, look at our record. We’re going to win,” he says at one point. But while he says he is confident he’ll win re-election in October he admits that if he loses, he’s “gone” and moving to California.
“I’d rather lose to Olivia Chow than lose to anyone,” he said.

He also brings up the recent controversy when a rainbow flag was flown outside city hall during the Olympics. He was criticized by councillors and the public alike after he demanded the flag be replaced by a Canadian flag.
Global News has not been able to verify the authenticity of the audio.

“Tim says you know what, it’s right, I think, right there… he lost my vote. I don’t know what the f***, I can’t vote liberal, because I don’t like what she’s doing, not because she’s gay or not but I just don’t like the corruption. NDP, I’m just not left-wing. I just can’t. I am like Tim Hudak, but I won’t put a sign on my lawn, I won’t donate any money, I might have to vote green.”
“I’m probably going to vote green because the green guy didn’t say a f***ing word.”
The mayor is reportedly taking a leave of absence from the campaign as a result of the audio.
The audio was released by the Toronto Sun late Wednesday night and was allegedly recorded surreptitiously at Sullie Gorman’s, a bar on Royal York Road in Etobicoke, on Monday.
Late in the recording, the mayor can be heard ordering “two shots” for two patrons he describes with a racial slur for Italian.
According to the Sun, a witness allegedly said the mayor was “wasted.”
