TORONTO — Peaches Geldof is dead at 25.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and sudden,” said a statement from police in Kent, England.

The BBC reports police were called to a home in Kent at around 1:35 p.m. local time Monday.

Geldof is the daughter of Boomtown Rats singer Bob Geldof and the late UK television star Paula Yates (who died in 2000 of a heroin overdose).

In a statement, Bob Geldof said: “We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?

“We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.”

When she was still a teenager, Peaches Geldof wrote for several publications, including Elle Girl and The Guardian. She was also a familiar face on British television.

Geldof was the face of the Miss Ultimo collection until allegations of drug use were published. She called the allegations “wildly exaggerated.”

Geldof was photographed last Thursday attending a fashion show.

On Sunday, she posted a childhood photo of herself with her mom on Instagram.

Geldof was married to musician Thomas Cohen in September 2012 and the couple had sons Astala Dylan Willow and Phaedra Bloom Forever. The boys turn two and one respectively this month.

Cohen issued a statement that read: “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons … and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.”

It was her second marriage. Her first, to musician Max Drummey, ended in 2009 after only six months.

In addition to her father, husband and sons, Geldof leaves behind sisters Fifi, Trixibelle and Pixie and half-sister Tiger Lily (whose father, INXS singer Michael Hutchence was found dead in 1997 at the age of 37).
