UPDATE (April 4, 2014): On April 1, 2014, an autopsy was performed on the young woman who had been found dead in an alley behind a Viking home on March 30, 2014. The autopsy found that her death was not criminal in nature.
EDMONTON – The RCMP is investigating the sudden death of a woman after finding her body in the snow outside a Viking home.
Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the back alley of a home Viking, which is roughly 130 kilometres southeast of Edmonton.
They found the woman in the snow without any winter clothing.
Officers determined she was dead, and that she had just been at a reception nearby.
The Edmonton RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating the sudden death.
The woman’s name is not being released at the request of the family.
