Fire destroys Timber Bay, Saskatchewan recreational facility

TIMBER BAY, Sask. – A weekend fire has destroyed a recreational facility in a northern Saskatchewan community.

Waskesiu Lake RCMP were called to the facility in Timber Bay, approximately 120 kilometres north of Prince Albert, around 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers arrived to find the building engulfed in flames.

Montreal Lake First Nation firefighters were called in to battle the blaze, but the building was destroyed.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

The recreational facility was used by members of the community for a variety of functions.
