Post-goal celebrations are hardly uncommon in European football (or any football, for that matter).
Usually, the goal-scorer will embrace teammates, take off his jersey, run towards the cheering fans – and sometimes, he or she do all three.
But Hidetoshi Wakui wasn’t content with a run-of-the-mill goal scoring celebration.
Neither, as it turns out, was the rest of his team.

Wakui plays midfield for Nõmme Kalju FC, a team in Estonia’s premier soccer league, the Meistriliiga. During the 21st minute of a game against rival FC Flora on Sunday, the Japanese midfielder found the back of the net after a nice lob pass set him up in perfect position to score.
It was a nice bit of teamwork – but it didn’t hold a candle to the post-goal antics.
Wakui immediately grabbed the ball and sprinted towards the touchline. As he tapped his feet anxiously, his teammates arranged themselves like human 10-pins.
Right after scoring his goal, Wakui proceeded to bowl his “strike”. His teammates fell to the ground in comic fashion, and fans were treated to one of the more unique post-goal celebrations ever seen.
Unfortunately, Wakui’s antics couldn’t keep Flora from celebrating their own goal later in the match, and the contest ended in a 1-1 draw.
