WATCH: Winnipeg Jets vs Colorado Avalanche preview

WINNIPEG – Two teams in different positions in the central division of the western conference will meet for the fifth and final time this season as the Winnipeg Jets (31-30-9) take on the Colorado Avalanche (44-20-5) at MTS Centre on Wednesday.

The Avalanche are battling with the Chicago Blackhawks for second place in the division and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs while the Jets are six points back of the Phoenix Coyotes for the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference and before they can catch up to the Coyotes they have to get past both the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks.

The Jets will be without goalie Ondrej Pavelec and winger Dustin Byfuglien who both have lower body injures.

Al Montoya will make his third consecutive start in goal.
