SASKATOON – The driver of a car eluded capture following a police chase in Saskatoon on Tuesday evening.
The chase started around 9 p.m. at the intersection of 22nd Street and Confederation Drive when police spotted a car believed to have a person wanted on outstanding criminal warrants.
The driver took off northbound on Confederation when police attempted to stop the car and eventually hit another northbound vehicle near John A. MacDonald Road, causing the vehicle to hit a light post and a parked car.
The crash caused the engine of the suspect car to catch fire and the driver turned eastbound on 33rd Street.
Police then spotted the car rolling down 33rd at a low rate of speed without a driver where it then hit a transit bus.
A female passenger in the car was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the car remains at large.
