Water main break floods Lakeview street

CALGARY – Firefighters are cleaning up after a water main break in the community of Lakeview on Wednesday.

The break in the 6300 block of Crowchild Trail S.W. sent water gushing down an alley and along Longridge Drive S.W.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene around 6:30 a.m.

The cold weather caused the water to quickly freeze, trapping some area residents whose vehicles became stuck in a large sheet of ice covering the street.
