Calgary police seize vehicles from scene of double murder

Calgary police are still at the scene of a home in Lake Bonavista where a couple was murdered almost a week ago.

In a new development Friday, they seized two cars and a van at the murder scene for forensic examination.

59–year-old Don Carlson and his wife, 56-year-old Roxanne Carlson, were found dead inside their home last Saturday.

Initially it was thought the couple had died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning but an autopsy later found the two had been murdered. Police are not revealing how they were killed.

Homicide investigators will remain at the home for several more days.

A memorial service for the Carlsons will be held at McInnis & Holloway’s Fish Creek Chapel on Saturday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m.

An obituary for the couple describes them as happily married for 37 years.

According to the obituary, Carlson was an active hockey player and coach and a long-time manager of Albern Coins.

Roxanne Carlson was a psychologist with the Calgary Board of Education.
