CALGARY – Police are now treating the deaths of two people in their Lake Bonavista home as suspicious.

The pair, believed to be in their late fifties or early sixties, was discovered by a family member.

They called 911, but when paramedics arrived the couple was already dead.

Investigators have not determined a cause of death, but have ruled out carbon monoxide poisoning as a possible cause.

“Air quality has been ruled out,” explains Staff Sgt. Jason Bobrowich. “The Calgary Fire Department attended and determined that there was no indicator of carbon monoxide.”

Police say the homicide unit is involved in the investigation.

An autopsy still has to be performed and police say it will be at least Tuesday before the results are made public.
