WATCH: Rob Ford backs TCHC CEO Gene Jones and doesn’t think he needs an executive coach
TORONTO – Gene Jones will be staying on as CEO of the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) as the board voted 12-1 to back him despite a recent human resources controversy.
He’d been accused of mishandling the firing of an executive and attempting to keep his executive assistant off the Sunshine List, which is published annually with the names and salaries of public servants making over $100,000.
TCHC board chair Bud Purves made the announcement Thursday afternoon saying that Jones did break the rules but won’t lose his job.
Jones will be forced to get an executive coach and will lost his 2013 bonus- approximately 25 per cent of his $250,000 salary – as part of his punishment.
