Former Blue Bombers defensive back Jovon Johnson has found work with the expansion Ottawa RedBlacks.
Johnson was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive player in 2011 but the Bombers didn’t try to re-sign him, telling him a day before free agency that he wouldn’t be offered a contract.

Johnson is 30 years old but his numbers have trailed off the past two seasons with only one interception in 2012 and 2013. He had eight picks in his award winning 2011 campaign.
Johnson is the 3rd Bombers free agent to sign with another team after Offensive Lineman Justin Sorensen signed with the Eskimos and Defensive Back Brandon Stewart inked a deal with the Tiger-Cats.
In other CFL news, Grey Cup MVP Kory Sheets is bound for the NFL with several reports indicating the Roughriders running back has signed with the Oakland Raiders.
