VERNON — The 7-11 on 27th St. in Vernon will be closed for the day after a car crashed through the entrance.
The single vehicle incident happened shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday.

There was one employee and two customers in the store at the time. No one was hurt.
Damage to the storefront is extensive.
The driver, a woman in her sixties, told officials that she hit the brake but the car kept on going.
They suspect her foot may have slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator.
The driver also escaped injury.
A similar crash happened last week when a pick-up truck plowed through the entrance of a business in Armstrong.
The driver had recently been fitted with a prosthetic leg.
