SASKATOON – A Saskatoon court heard final arguments on Wednesday in the trial of a prominent businessman charged with possessing and accessing child pornography.

Co-founder and former President of Star Produce Leo Baribeau was arrested after police found around 500 illegal images on his home computer and laptop in 2009.

During final arguments, the defence claimed Baribeau unknowingly downloaded child pornography while searching for music on the file sharing program Limewire.

But the Crown disagreed saying that wasn’t consistent with the evidence.

The trial was adjourned and a verdict is due on April 8.
