Verdict due today in Allgood murder trial

SASKATOON – A decision is expected Monday morning in the George Allgood murder trial.

Allgood is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend Susan Rienhardt.

Rienhardt was killed after someone fired shots through a sliding door while she was sleeping in her City Park home in July 2006.

Her boyfriend, David Ristow, survived the shooting.

A key point in the case is the so-called “Mr. Big” sting where Allgood allegedly confessed to the crime to undercover officers.

Allgood testified he only told the officers what he thought they wanted to hear and that he felt threatened and feared for his life.

Allgood, an American, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Baltimore, MD around 30 years ago.
