SASKATOON – It will be another three months until accused murderer George Allgood learns his fate next year in Saskatoon.

Final arguments were heard at the Court of the Queen’s Bench on Monday.

Allgood is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and shooting her boyfriend as they slept in a Saskatoon home in 2006.

A so-called “Mr. Big” sting in which Allgood confessed to the crime to an undercover police officer was key in the case.

“It’s not just what he told the undercover officer but the police go to great pains to investigate what pieces of evidence corroborate what he said to the undercover officer as being the truth,” said Crown Prosecutor Robin Ritter.

“A lot of the evidence police found didn’t corroborate his statement,” said Defence Lawyer Morris.

“They’re depending on the statement given to the undercover operator in Vancouver, that’s their whole case. It’s nothing else.”

Justice Grant Currie reserved his decision until Jan. 27.
