A victory by the Westside Warriors evens the Interior Conference semi-final at one game apiece.
The Warriors took on the Vernon Vipers Wednesday night.
Warrior Tyler Krause opened the scoring halfway through the first period.
Moments later, Vipers Dylan Walchuk tied the game.
The Warriors were leading 2-1 by the end of the first, and a quick goal by Captain Alex Grieve early on in the second gave the team a 3-1 lead.
Minutes later, Vipers Malcolm Lyle got a power-play goal, but that would be the closest the Vipers would get to trying to close the gap.
Tyler Brickler and Tyler Krause scored two more goals in the third, ending the game 5-2.
The series moves to the Westside for game three on Friday and game four on Saturday.
In other BCHL playoff action, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks have a two game to nothing lead against the Penticton Vees.
