Drunk driver charged after getting truck stuck in Prince Albert

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – A man has been charged with drunk driving after Prince Albert police found a motorist struggling to free a stuck vehicle early Sunday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., police found a black truck that had veered off the road in the vicinity of McIntosh Drive.

The driver was desperately trying to free the truck.

As police pulled up, the driver fled on foot but stumbled and fell as he tried to jump a gate.

Police say he appeared to be extremely impaired.

The 32-year-old suspect was arrested and has been charged with impaired driving, refusing a breathalyzer and resisting arrest.

He will be appearing in provincial court on Monday.
