Fire destroys historic building in Leask

A historic building in Leask, Saskatchewan has been reduced to a pile of rubble after a fire early Wednesday morning.

Fire departments from Leask and several surrounding communities were called to the Leask Hotel at around 2:43 am. The hotel and bar, originally built in 1912, was engulfed in flames and completely destroyed. At the time of the fire there was one occupant in the building, but he was able to get out of the building safely.

Leask is about one hour north of Saskatoon on highway twelve.
