CALGARY – A destructive fire in the city’s northwest has completely destroyed three condo buildings and damaged a dozen homes.
The fire in the community of Panorama Hills started around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, at a condominium complex at Panatella Drive and Panatella Square N.W.
The complex contains four 10-unit condo buildings which are under construction and were empty at the time of the fire.
The blaze gutted three of the buildings in the complex, and caused significant damage to the fourth.
Officials say two of the buildings destroyed by the fire were almost completed and close to occupancy.

Fire crews evacuated 14 homes west of the complex, 12 of which suffered damage.
They will evaluate the damage and air quality in and around the evacuated homes before they allow displaced residents back in.
Firefighters say they had to hose down several propane tanks at the complex as they battled the fire, to prevent them from exploding.
No injuries were reported.
