10-second detox tip for 2014

 Add Lemon in your Water

Yup – you read correct! Why?

1.Immune System Boost

Vitamin C is imperative during times of stress as it will give your system a boost and lemon juice is full of it! When we are under stress, our need for vitamin C increases because our adrenal glands (stress glands) need it even more. When your adrenal glands are overworked and undernourished, they will produce a hormone called cortisol. This hormone causes your body to deposit belly fat right where you don’t want it!

2. Supports healthy digestion

Fresh lemon juice supports your digestion digestion by loosening toxins in your digestive tract, it helps to relieve symptoms of indigestion such as heartburn, burping, and gas and bloating.

How?

Squeeze a fresh lemon in your water every day. You can also use lemon juice but organic lemon juice. Don’t use the one in the little plastic bottle as that one contains nitrates. Try an organic one or take a few minutes and squeeze up enough lemon juice for the week.

I use Santa Cruz’s Organic Pure Lemon Juice and you can find it in the health food section of your local grocery store!
