The stabbing happened on Consort Crescent, near Mavis Road and Dundas Street, at around 12:30 a.m., paramedics said.

Paramedics said they transported an 18-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A 16-year-old girl was taken to a trauma centre in Toronto, paramedics said.

In a later update, Peel Regional Police said the woman remains in hospital in serious but stable condition, the male teen was medically cleared and the teen girl is in stable, non-life threatening condition.

In an update on Monday, police said 43-year-old Ghazanfar Ali is facing several charges including three counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault, breach of probation and assault with a weapon against another occupant of the home who was assaulted with a knife but was not stabbed or injured.
