Their leave is pending the outcome of an investigation, but no one is saying why they’re being investigated.
“I can say that there’s no criminal investigation at this point,” says Darwin Sauer from the Provincial Health Services Association. “Given that it’s a personnel matter I can’t go into the details regarding the investigation itself.”
Bronwyn Barter, the provincial president of the Ambulance Paramedics of BC said in a statement on their website that they are aware of the investigation but were not able to comment further. “Our focus continues to be on our members – 3,900 committed and dedicated Paramedics and Dispatchers who will be continuing to help ensure BC families have a safe holiday,” she said.
