A shooting in a White Rock residential neighbourhood early Thursday morning was captured on surveillance video.
Police say four men were sent to hospital in serious condition following the shooting at Roper Avenue and Parker Street.
At approximately 12:25 a.m., police said officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired and a vehicle collision.
The video shows at least three shooters, one running into the driveway of a home, who then opens fire with an automatic weapon on a black SUV.
The vehicle attempts to drive away but crashes across the street where another volley of shots is fired.
Another home security camera captured one man running from the scene.
Neighbours told Global News they heard what sounded like fireworks going off early Thursday.
The suspect vehicle had fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
“This incident appears to be targeted and there is no ongoing risk to public safety in the area at this time,” Const. Chantal Sears with White Rock RCMP said in a statement.
“The investigation is in the early stages and our General Investigations Unit has been engaged.”
The 15600 block of Roper Avenue is shut down in all directions so drivers are being asked to find an alternate route.
