A spokesperson for Edmonton Fire Rescue Services told Global News crews responded to a fire in the area of 92A Street and 146th Avenue at 5:01 p.m.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 5:06 p.m. and the fire was under control by 5:38 p.m.

Marty McNamara, a district chief with EFRS, said that no injuries were reported and that an adult and three children in the unit got out safely.

He said the fire had been extinguished and an investigation was underway to determine the cause. He said firefighters believe the blaze broke out on the main floor.

According to McNamara, the fire was contained to one unit.

While he said he could not immediately assess the extent of the damage, the people living in the townhome would not be able to sleep there Monday night.
