The Calgary event, which is just one of several across the country, kicked off around 10 a.m. Saturday at Eau Claire Market.

Organizers say it was the coldest Santa Shuffle on record; more than 1,000 people had originally registered.

Proceeds from Saturday’s run go towards the Salvation Army to help fight poverty in our city.

The run is now in its 23rd year.
