Canucks end road trip with 3-1 win over Predators

Ryan Kesler likes playing against the Nashville Predators.

So do the rest of the Canucks.

Kesler scored two goals in the third period to lead Vancouver to a 3-1 win against the Predators Monday night.

The victory ended Vancouver’s four-game road trip on a winning note, giving the team a 3-1 total record. Overall, the team sits at 15-10-5 on the season, while Nashville is now 13-12-3.

The two goals move Kesler to 14 on the year, tied for fourth in the western conference. In his last game against Nashville, Kesler also scored two goals in a 5-2 Vancouver win. More famously, the centre also had 11 points in six games during the Canucks’ 2011 playoff series against the Predators.

Brad Richardson began the night’s scoring for Vancouver with a goal at 15:24 of the first period, his sixth goal of the season.

Roberto Luongo made 30 saves for the Canucks. Vancouver was without the services of Alex Burrows, who broke his jaw off a Chris Tanev clearing attempt in Sunday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
