One man is dead following a head-on collision on a highway east of Calgary.
At around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, RCMP were advised of the collision between an SUV and a pickup truck pulling a cattle trailer.

Officers closed Highway 9 just north of Highway 564, about 17 kilometres east of the city’s boundary, and diverted traffic around the site while collision reconstructionists worked there.
Police said the driver of the SUV, a 42-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene. The people in the pickup truck received minor injuries.

RCMP said the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
