Canadian actor Devon Sawa to be first-time dad

TORONTO — Canadian actor Devon Sawa is about to become a father.

The Vancouver-born star of films like Idle Hands and Final Destination and his wife Dawni Sahanovitch are expecting a baby boy in January.

“We are very excited,” Sawa tweeted Monday.

It is the first child for the couple.

Sawa most recently had a recurring role on the made-in-Toronto series Nikita.

Sahanovitch, also a Vancouver native, is a television producer on shows like Million Dollar Neighbourhood and Anna & Kristina’s Grocery Bag.

On Sunday, the 35-year-old shared a photo of a crib with the message: “Arrived today. Room’s almost done.”
