The driver of a transport truck is facing impaired driving charges after crashing on Highway 400 in Springwater Township Monday night.
Just before 10 p.m., police say officers from Orillia Ontario Provincial Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles, one being a tractor-trailer, on Highway 400 near Penetanguishene Road.
Highway 400 was partially closed, however, it has since been fully reopened.
Officers attended the scene and spoke with everyone involved in the collision.
After speaking with the driver of the tractor-trailer, officers said they suspected impaired driving and investigated further.
A 32-year-old Angus man has been charged with operation while impaired with alcohol and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80-plus.
The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date at the Ontario court of justice in the city of Orillia.
