Fifteen private gardens open to visit in several Vancouver Westside neighbourhods, including famed architect Arthur Erickson’s secret garden. A self-guided tour, proceeds to Heritage Vancouver Society. Gardens of all sizes and types are sure to inspire! In addition to Arthur Erickson’s secret garden, there is a spectacular large Japanese garden complete with teahouse, gardens with a variety of interesting and unusual plants, small sized spaces, examples of how to incorporate fruit and vegetables into a flower garden, ponds, art in the garden, and more! Several of the gardens surround heritage houses, including a Van Norman, a Hollingsworth designed house, as well as a 1908 Kitsilano house which was the site of former stables.
