St. Albert Market – Honey Day

Support the bees and celebrate Honey Day at the market! On August 19th (National Honey Bee day), the St. Albert Farmers’ Market will be having a Honey Day at the market to raise awareness for the dwindling bee population and support the “Save the Bees” initiative. Our Honey Day will showcase our vendors who make or use honey in the creation of their product, will feature artist Dilys Kulchitsky’s unique beeswax paintings, have bee hotels on display and for sale from the Edmonton and Area Land Trust and St. Albert Scouts, and a student from the Peter-Lougheed Leadership College who is currently doing an intensive study on bees, and will be showcasing her knowledge by engaging market visitors. The market will also be having a bee themed fact-find contest where 100 facts about bees will be hidden around the market, and visitors will have to remember at least three new facts to enter a draw contest with bee-themed prizes from our wonderful vendors. There will also be bee activities for market visitors to enjoy and plenty of great decorations! It is going to be a memorable market celebration.
