Touria Izri
Digital Broadcast Journalist
Touria Izri was born in Edmonton, but grew up in Mississauga, ON.
She joined Global News’ Ottawa bureau in November 2022 as a digital broadcast journalist. Before that, Touria spent almost a decade at CTV News.
Her first reporter job was as a videojournalist with CTV Winnipeg where she covered the pandemic, provincial politics, wildfires and Indigenous communities in Manitoba.
Touria won an RTDNA Award for her profile about a Winnipeg high school student with down syndrome.
After her time in Winnipeg, Touria worked as a reporter for CTV Edmonton and CTV Montreal. Prior to working in local news, Touria wrote and produced for CTV National News, travelling to Pyeongchang for the 2018 Winter Olympics and Normandy for the 75th anniversary of D-day.
Touria’s first gig in journalism was as an intern at the Toronto Star. She received a degree in journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. Touria speaks French and English.
