MINTO, N.B. – Police say they discovered an apparent marijuana grow operation after responding to a fire at a special care seniors home near Minto, N.B.
RCMP say a search warrant was obtained and officers seized 550 marijuana plants from the basement of the building on Shore road in Clarks Corner.

Marijuana growing equipment and a large quantity of marijuana were also seized.
Police say they believe the fire was related to the grow operation.
All of the residents of the home were safely evacuated.
