The $769 million project would extend Stoney Trail from Glenmore Trail south to Highway 22X, and was supposed to open on Tuesday.
However, Transportation Minister Ric McIver says the project has been delayed.

Contractors face a $70,000 fine for each day of delay.
McIver says it’s a big project, and the part which is being completed right now is the most complicated part.
He says he isn’t sure when the roadway will open, but they hope to have it completed as soon as possible.
