Calgarians to be honoured for flood response

CALGARY- The way Calgarians pulled together in the aftermath of the devastating June floods is not going unnoticed.

On Tuesday, Mayor Naheed Nenshi will host an event to celebrate ‘community heroes’, focusing on those who raced to help during both emergency and reconstruction efforts.

The Governor General will present a Commendation for Outstanding Service dedicated to all Calgarians, during the celebration at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Alberta country singer Corb Lund will also perform at the event.
