REGINA – RCMP in Craik were involved in a shooting last night that claimed the life of a 42-year old man in Holdfast.
Police went to a house in Holdfast on Wednesday night for a criminal investigation. There was a physical altercation and the RCMP member shot the man who died at the scene.
Late Wednesday night RCMP asked that the Regina police conduct an independent external investigation into the circumstances that caused the officer to fire his gun.
Once the investigation is complete the Regina police will report the results to the Ministry of justice and Attorney General.
