Man arrested after carrying rifle around Halifax’s north end

HALIFAX – Halifax RCMP have charged a man after he was allegedly seen carrying a rifle in the city’s north end.

The Mounties were called to the intersection of Woodill and Maynard streets around 10:30 a.m. today after someone reported seeing several groups attempting to disarm a man who was carrying a rifle.

Police say they eventually located the rifle inside a Maynard Street residence.

A 57-year-old man was charged with multiple firearms-related offences.

No one was injured.
