EDMONTON – The Edmonton Police Service says the mother and child that were the subjects of an earlier-issued Amber Alert have been safely located.

Just before 12 noon Tuesday, the EPS was asking for the public’s help in locating a nine-month baby girl who police say has been abducted by her mother.

According to police, the child and mother were last seen early Monday morning at a south-west Edmonton home on Mullen Road close to Rabbit Hill Road. It was reported that the mother left her residence with the child between 6:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Members of South-west patrol responded to a report of the alleged abduction at 7:45 p.m. Monday evening.

Around 1:30 pm Tuesday, police issued an update, saying the two were found in the city.

The EPS says a citizen from Edmonton called police around 1 pm to tell them about the whereabouts of a mother and her baby relating to the Amber Alert.
