CALGARY – Police have charged a Siksika man in the death of his daughter, almost six years ago.
Police were called to a Ranchlands home on January 31st, 2007 for reports of a baby in medical distress.
The four-month-old was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to her injuries in March of 2007.
An autopsy later determined the child, Honey Jerry, died as a result of cranial trauma.
On Wednesday, police arrested 27-year-old Kinsey Jerry, charging him with one count of manslaughter.
Last month, RCMP issued a warrant for Jerry, for the alleged aggravated assault against a different four month-old child in 2011.
In that incident, RCMP responded to a home on Siksika Nation on September 26th, 2011 for reports of an injured child.
The baby was flown to hospital by STARS air ambulance, suffering head injuries.
RCMP arrested and released Jerry on March 6th.
A Canada Wide Warrant for Jerry was issued after he failed to appear at a scheduled court appearance.
