Lethbridge police are investigating an assault that left two 20-year-old men with stab wounds and required transferring one patient to Calgary for treatment. A 35-year-old male suspect was found and arrested shortly after the incident, but investigators are trying to find two more suspects.
Officers were called to the 1400 block of Ashgrove Road at about 7:35 p.m. Tuesday for reports of an assault.
Police found the two wounded men at the apartment building. They were taken to Chinook Regional Hospital, then one was taken to Calgary. Both were in stable condition in hospital as of Wednesday morning, police said.
“The investigation is still in its early stages but has determined a group of people inside an apartment were involved in a dispute which escalated to a physical altercation,” police said in a release.
Police said the involved parties know each other.
Charges were pending as of Wednesday morning.
